Geomorphology shapes the Earth’s surface through the operation of earth surface processes acting on rocks and sediments. Over a wide range of temporal and spatial scales, such geomorphological interactions are intertwined with biotic processes, creating the vibrant and complex landscapes we see around us. This talk explores the contributions geomorphologists make to explaining landscape dynamics, and outlines the need for better links between the bio- and geosciences to provide a fuller account of the changing face of the Earth. |
