| By means of satellite images, numerical simulations of the atmosphere and synoptic weather observations, the quantity of dust carried to the sea during four recent dust-storms in Iceland is estimated.
In each of the storms, the total amount of dust yealds several tens of thousands of tonnes, indicating that it may be important for the biosphere in the nearby oceans. |
