| After nearly tripling its planned lifetime, the Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer – GOCE – has completed its mission reentering the Earth atmosphere early in the morning of 11th November 2013.
During its lifetime more than 44 months of high quality gravity field data have been observed enabling to estimate the static gravity field of the Earth solely from satellite data with a spatial resolution of about 100 km and an accuracy of a few centimetres globally. This paper describes the ground segment that was used to process these data up to the level of gravity field models and provides an overview of the Level 1b and Level 2 processing status in terms of data availability, completeness and quality statistics at end of satellite mission lifetime. |
