| This poster shall provide an overview of the International Surface Temperature Initiative that was initiated in 2010. Concerned with improving all aspects of our understanding of Land Surface Temperatures this initiative has progressed significantly. A first version release of a databank holding is due in Feb 2013. This holding will consist of in excess of 30,000 global station records, many longer than a Century. The holdings have vastly improved provenance tracking and now provide the basis for subsequent steps. These consist of encouraging multiple groups to create homogenized products from the databank, a global benchmarking framework and serving products with support.
