Zusammenfassung |
Emissions of pollutants are at the origin of atmospheric pollution issues and climate change. Within the ESA GlobEmission project user requirements for emission data are collected from representatives of various user groups (scientists, policy makers, environmental agencies, etc.). Based on these requirements new emission data products have been derived based on satellite observations that have information complementary to existing (bottom-up) inventories. The main advantages of these emission estimates are the spatial consistency, high temporal resolution and the rapid availability of these estimates. The first results will be presented for satellite-derived estimates of global biogenic emissions, high-resolution regional anthropogenic emissions (East Asia, South Africa, Europe), and aerosol-related emissions. |
