Zusammenfassung |
The contribution of stratospheric bromine to ozone depletion is not completely understood to this day. The SCIAMACHY instrument aboard the European Research Satellite ENVISAT provides a unique data set of vertically resolved profiles of BrO and ozone, among others, from limb observations now spanning nearly a decade. The altitude range for ozone covers 10 to more than 60 km and the retrieved range of bromine monoxide covers the lower stratosphere (15-30 km). Long-term trends for BrO are derived as a function of altitude and latitude. We analyze the long-term evolution of stratospheric bromine load (as derived from SCIAMACHY BrO observations). The global ozone profile trends from SCIAMACHY are compared to OSIRIS and MLS. |
