Zusammenfassung |
Permanently installed spectroscopic instruments for monitoring sulfur dioxide (SO2)
emissions from the volcanoes Popocatépetl and Fuego de Colima in Mexico, built up within
the project NOVAC (Network for Observation of Volcanic and Atmospheric Change), have
been gathering data for some years now, using Differential Optical Absorption
Spectroscopy (DOAS). Instrument data for SO2 emissions is presented, as well as first
studies for the detection of bromine monoxide (BrO) in the plumes of these two
volcanoes, both using the same spectroscopic data gathered during the last years, and
from data gathered during a measurement campaign at Fuego de Colima volcano. |
