Zusammenfassung |
Despite all its known deficiencies the E-OBS ECA&D precipitation data set is the standard data set when it comes to evaluation of regional climate models over the European domain.
We present a considerably improved precipitation data set for Germany, the HYRAS data set.
This data is derived using the user established REGNIE method (regionalised precipitation)and is based on an extended and spatial representative large number of observation data for Germany and bordering river basins.
We present several statistical measures indicating that the HAYRAS data is superior to E-OBS. Therefore, the HYRAS data set is more suitable for RCM validation studies considering high resolution precipitation studies. |
