Zusammenfassung
CzechGeo/EPOS is the system of geophysical observations performed by geoscience institutions of the Czech Republic. The backbone of CzecGeo is formed by permanent observatories (seismic, GPS, magnetic, gravimetric and geodynamic) involved in global networks which provide data in real time. Permanent observatories are complemented by local stations in selected regions of interest. The third level of the observational system is formed by mobile stations which are deployed for repeated measurements or field experiments within major international projects. CzechGeo was recognized by the Czech government in March 2010 as an important national research infrastructure (together with other 11 research infrastructures). Ministry of education allocated the annual support of CzechGeo from 2010 to 2015. It will cover most of the operational and personal costs, and hardware investments of geophysical networks in the Czech Republic. Web pages of the project www.czechgeo.cz are under construction. Project CzechGeo is closely related with the 7th FP project EPOS (European Plate Observing System) which was included into the European roadmap of research infrastructures of ESFRI (European Strategic Forum for Research Infrastructures) in 2008. The Preparatory Phase of EPOS started on November 1, 2010. The Institute of Geophysics, AS CR, Prague, is one of the twenty partner institutions of 18 countries involved in the EPOS project.
