Zusammenfassung |
This study proposes a methodology to map the flooding hazard and related uncertainty due to
piping breach of the levee system by means of stochastic simulations. 1D and 2D
hydrodynamic models (HEC-RAS and LISFLOOD-FP) are used to simulate different
inundation scenarios corresponding to diverse characteristics of the levee breaches. Then,
probabilistic inundation hazard maps are generated by combining the results of the
inundation scenarios obtained by randomizing breaches geometries derived from statistics of
hystorical events. Resulting maps enable one to compare different strategies for flood risk
management. The methodology has been applied to a flood–prone area of 100 km2 in
Northern Italy, protected by the right embankments of the Po river and the left and right
levees of the Taro and Parma river, respectively. This presentation will deal with the mapping
of piping hazard along the reach due to the different geometrical features of the levees
system. Finally, in our study we also investigate how the presence of obstacles in the
flood prone areas modifies the spatial variability of flooding hazard and discuss
the different ways to communicate flood risk to local stakeholders with a unified
standard. |
