| Using WRF-Chem, an on-line meteorology-chemistry model, and Gridpoint Statistical Interpolation (GSI), a 3DVAR assimilation tool, we evaluate effect of assimilation of ozone soundings and aircraft measurements over the USA on prediction of surface concentrations of ozone. The assimilation experiment is performed in summer 2006. Comparisons will be presented of these assimilations with the assimilation of surface data alone and with forecasts without assimilation of observations. |
