| The use of standards in integrated environmental modeling has increased in the last decade. The standards that made life of modelers a lot easier are found in the fields of model coupling, data exchange, storage and visualization. In this presentation we will give an overview of geospatial standards currently used in the integrated environmental modeling domain. Examples of the problems that are now possible to solve using geospatial standards will be shown. Oustanding issues to focus on in the next few years are definition of unstructured grids, dynamic coverages, networks and other data structures used in integrated environmental modeling. The consistency of time dependent aspects in current geospatial standards is another topic that requires further discussion. |
