| The Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite (GOSAT) has observed carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) globally from space since Feb. 7, 2009. The Thermal And Near infrared Sensor for carbon Observation Fourier-Transform Spectrometer (TANSO-FTS) and Cloud and Aerosol Imager (TANSO-CAI) acquire global data every three days. Onboard and vicarious calibrations have been performed for more than two years. The radiometric, geometric and spectroscopic characterizations on orbit with time are presented. Lastly we will discuss GOSAT follow-on project; sampling strategy such as improving spatial resolution and increasing observation points, addition of target species such as carbon monoxide (CO). |
