| Decadal timescales analysis suggests an association exists between West African and Indian monsoon rainfall. There are many factors and mechanisms capable to influence and perturb rainfall in both African and Indian regions, like changes in global SST patterns. Previous works (eg: Kucharski et al., QJRMS 2009) showed already that tropical Atlantic influences both monsoon systems. The purpose of the present study is to evidence the association of West African and Indian monsoon and to understand the possible mechanisms which connect the two systems. |
