Zusammenfassung |
The Politano & Pouquet law, indicating linear scaling of the mixed third order structure functions of the Elsasser fields, is used to establish the properties of solar wind turbulence. The polar wind measured by Ulysses show a variety of cases, where scaling is observed or not, and with different contribution from velocity and magnetic field transfers. This is especially true at scales larger than a few hours, where the wind seem to behave like a fluid. In the ecliptic, the differences between fast and slow streams are highlighted from the contribution coming from cross-helicity terms of the Politano & Pouquet law. Implications on heating and the role of compressibility are also discussed. |
