| A few months ago the GOCE mission went onto its science operation mode. Since then, the High level Processing Facility, which is responsible for the generation of the orbit and gravity field products from GOCE, is analyzing the data and thereby contributing to the optimization of the ground processing. Currently, systematic processing of GPS-tracking and gradiometer data is going on in preparation of the generation of level 2 products. GOCE orbit determination is operational and high quality reduced-dynamic and kinematic position information is available. Gravity gradients – being a completely new data type - are analyzed systematically and in detail in order to prepare them for a global gravity field modelling based on a few months of gradiometer and orbit data. It is expected that in summer this year a first GOCE gravity field model will become available and level 2 product distribution can start from then on.
The presentation will inform about the status of the mission in terms of science data processing and the plans for GOCE gravity field product generation. |
