| The IBEX satellite successfully launched on October 19, 2008. This NASA small explorer mission is designed to measure and image energetic neutral atoms (ENAs) from the outer heliosphere. We present here a status update of the mission and overview of the first measurements. We describe the calibration of the low-energy ENA sensor using the University of Bern neutralizer, and we discuss the impact IBEX measurements could have on our understanding of the outer heliosphere and the local interstellar medium. |
