| This presentation will focus on the research on global precipitation using satellite observation
systems within the context of the Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment as part of the
World Climate Research Programme. An overview is given of the various projects and
outcomes over the last 5 years and areas where research should be consolidated and
which new directions are to be expected. Funding challenges in addressing new and
exciting areas such as high precipitation events and other extremes are being covered. |
