| A better understanding of landscape scale soil distribution (causes), its development over time (pedogenesis) and its influence on recent process dynamics is one of the biggest challenge in soil science. A substantial progress in this direction can be achieved by coupling structure and processes in soil landscapes. In the presentation a conceptual approach of landscape pedology is presented as well as some selected examples of the interdependencies between structure and processes from agricultural and forested landscapes(erosion, DOC, CH4). Special emphazis is given to the role of “sensitive areas” in soil landscapes for matter fluxes. |
