| We will present the current status and on-going developments within the Observatories and Research Facilities for European Seismology (ORFEUS) and its data centre. The recent rapid developments within ORFEUS are strongly embedded in the framework of the EC Research Infrastructure project NERIES in which earthquake data availability within Europe is given a new impulse. In this abstract we mention some highlights.
The Virtual European Broadband Seismic Network (VEBSN) has been expanded to more then 350 stations from more than 50 observatories. The data is available through most of the generally used data retrieval mechanisms, i.e. ftp, web applications, data-selection client software and e-mail based request mechanisms such as BreqFast. An experimental web portal within NERIES enables combination of event and waveform data. Data exchange between European observatories and long-term archiving at the annual Observatory workshops organized by ORFEUS. This years workshop, organised in conjunction with NERIES and INGV, will be in Erice, Sicily in May 2-8, 2009). The annual ORFEUS workshop, bringing together the data users in a research workshop on Tomography will take place in Utrecht, The Netherlands on July 2-3, 2009.
In this presentation we will provide a comprehensive overview of the current services and activities at ORFEUS. At the EGU booth ‘NERIES - ORFEUS – EMSC – EPOS representatives of ORFEUS will be available to address your questions, suggestions etc and additional informational material. |
