Zusammenfassung |
Following an agreement taken in the summer of 2008, the ILN (International Lunar Network)
is going to be an important step in the exploration of our natural satellite. Each node of this
network will include instrumentation to investigate on the Moon interior structure and
composition, and possibly fundamental physics. Among the main instruments considered for
these tasks, the seismometer is fundamental in sensing moonquakes to constrain the Moon
interior structure. ISA (Italian Spring Accelerometer) is a candidate for this rôle, due to
its high sensitivity and reliability. Following a description of the instrument and
of its applications for geophysics and space science, its use in the context of the
ILN will be discussed; in particular, the matching between the constraints of the
harsh lunar thermal environment and the instrument requirements will be shown. |
