| With previous european FP6 project like Mersea, Boss4GMES, Marcoast and ECOOP, european community have initiated a pre-operational system of system to monitor and forecast the ocean.
The main objective of the MyOcean project is to consolidate these past efforts, and prepare the transition to the operational phase.
The production of observation and forecasting data is distributed through 12 production units. Then, at a central level, MyOcean will implement an information system, called the MIS, and a user desk.
The MIS is a sub-system which links together and eases the information flows between production units and user-desk.
The presentation will begin with some conclusions of the information system implemented in the previous FP6 projects, what has been learned. Then the MyOcean Information System will be presented, through the functional needs and the architecture to achieve (what has to be done at central level and at distributed level, what are the links), with specific comments on operational aspects, interoperability and standardisation issues. |
