Zusammenfassung |
Taking advantage of the near-linearity between the specific attenuation affecting the link signal and the rain rate, the possibility to estimate the path-averaged rain rate using commercial telecommunication microwave links has been recently demonstrated. In the present work, we propose a new approach to estimate rainfall along the path of a microwave link. The potential of this approach is evaluated and confirmed using data from existing operational links from the french telecommunication company Bouygues Telecom and from an operational weather radar managed by Meteo France. |
